Stay in Touch
Wataniya Airways has teamed up with OnAir, an inflight communications provider, to offer guests the chance to keep in touch with family, friends, and business partners during flights. You can catch up on email, text a confirmation of your arrival, or simply be reachable to loved ones.
Take off and Landing
Your mobile phone must be turned off during take-off and landing. Note the No Mobile overhead sign. When this sign is illuminated you must turn your mobile phone off. You may use your mobile at any other time, i.e. throughout most of the flights.
Using OnAir
Using the OnAir service is easy. Simply switch on your mobile phone when the overhead sign is off, wait for a network connection, and use your mobile phone exactly as you do on the ground. You will probably see "OnAir" displayed on your handset screen.
As on the ground, you can make and receive phonecalls, you can send and receive text and multimedia messages, exchange emails, and access the internet. If your laptop is equipped with GPRS connectivity you can even connect via your laptop.
The aircraft is considered a "foreign country" in the sky, so remember to dial the full international number, starting with 00 or +. For example dial +965 followed by the number to call a number originating in Kuwait.
You are reachable throughout the flight at your usual number.
Invoicing
Your inflight communications will be invoiced automatically by your home mobile provider at international roaming rates. It costs nothing to turn on your mobile phone, and incoming messages are free of charge. Please consult your mobile operator for specific charges, as these vary between mobile operators and also depend on your price plan.
Prepaid accounts are supported.
Etiquette
As a courtesy to your fellow passengers please turn your phone to silent/vibrate mode, to avoid ringing or beeping noises.
